By participating in many group and solo exhibitions, Grgur Akrap has gained a solid reputation among art critics and the art audience as an outstanding young artist, as evidenced by the awards and recognitions he has received for his artistic achievements so far.
Grgur Akrap is a member of the younger generation of Croatian painting, which is focusing on figurative painting. His art is characterised by a strong figurative style interpreted in the spirit of tradition, but also in a very contemporary and individual way. Richness of colour, intensive brush strokes, thick coat of paint, symbolic interpretation of secular and biblical motif—these are some of the most recognisable elements in his paintings. Given his creativity, persistence and enormous talent, we can be sure that this young artist will make his mark on the Croatian art scene in the years to come.
