The exhibition Images from the Background presents a new series of works by Matko Vekić, one of the most significant and influential figures in Croatian contemporary painting, whose work has been shaping and defining the local art scene for over three decades. This series was created shortly after the artist’s return from India and is dedicated, as he emphasizes, to the hardworking and tireless, colorful fast-food delivery workers who increasingly flood the gray streets of European cities day by day. The exhibition opens the doors to a new visual experience for visitors, shaped by the details of everyday life, which, in Vekić’s interpretation, are transformed into striking and expressive paintings with a powerful visual impact.
